Adderley Care Home with Nursing is set in extensive gardens in the market town of Long Sutton in rural South Lincolnshire, close to Wisbech, Kings Lynn and Spalding. The home lies within easy reach of local amenities such as the market place, banks, post office, library, parish church and a variety of shops.
The home is purpose built to accommodate people in need of both residential and nursing care, and those with dementia and offers long term accommodation, short breaks, day care and drop-in services.
Skilled, knowledgeable and motivated staff work hard to provide an atmosphere which is warm, friendly and supportive, to meet the individual physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of our residents.
Residents' social needs are met by a full programme of activities organised by our Activity Co-ordinator. This includes trips out using the home's own mini bus, bingo, music, art and crafts and reminiscence.
Adderley is a friendly place and we actively encourage family and friends to become involved. A relatives group meets regularly to support the home's activities and visitors are always welcome in person or by telephone.
Adderley Care Home with Nursing has 66 single rooms, of which 27 are en-suite, and 3 double rooms which are ideal for married couples or residents who request to share.
Rooms are located over 2 floors, with stairs and a lift serving the upper floor. For confused/wandering residents, 19 of our rooms are located in a secure area. We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with pictures, small items of furniture and ornaments.
Adderley has 4 lounge/dining rooms, one quiet lounge and other quiet areas. A well fitted kitchen staffed by trained cooks provides varied and nutritious meals to suit all dietary needs.
Residents are the focal point of our service provision. We ensure that they are fully involved in the planning and delivery of services, promoting their right to dignity, privacy, choice and independence.
All residents are supported by a Key Worker whose role is to ensure their needs are identified, clearly recorded and appropriately met. All residents have access to relevant healthcare professionals and services, ie GP, chiropodist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist and optician.
Resident consultation is an important aspect of our approach. We seek residents' views in a number of ways including through meetings, service reviews and questionnaires. We use the information we gain to help improve our services to residents.
