Adderley Residential

Introduction

Adderley Residential Care Home is set in extensive gardens in the market town of Long Sutton in rural South Lincolnshire, close to Wisbech, Kings Lynn and Spalding. The home lies within easy reach of local amenities such as the market place, banks, post office, library, parish church and a variety of shops.

The home was tastefully converted from a private house approximately 30 years ago and offers long term accommodation, short breaks, day care and drop-in services.

Skilled, knowledgeable and motivated staff work hard to provide an atmosphere which is warm, friendly and supportive, to meet the individual physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of our residents.

Activities & Social

Residents' social needs are met by a full programme of activities organised by our Activity Co-ordinator. This includes trips out using the home's own mini bus, bingo, board games, celebration of residents' birthdays, music and more. We also organise a 5-day holiday break for residents twice a year.

Families visiting residents, particularly if coming from further afield, are welcome, by prior arrangement with the manager, to join their relative for a meal.

Accommodation

Adderley Residential Care Home contains 15 flatlets and 12 bedrooms (10 single and 2 double) all located within the main house.

Bedrooms are fully furnished to a high standard and all are equipped with a call-bell system. We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with pictures, small items of furniture and ornaments. Recognising the diversity of residents' needs, personalities and social backgrounds, Adderley offers a variety of communal areas for TV viewing, conversation, listening to the radio or sitting quietly. There are currently 2 larger lounge/dining rooms, rising to 3 when extension works are completed (summer 2010). Quiet rooms and smaller sitting areas are located around the house.

Trained cooks prepare wholesome meals and residents choose from a daily menu, catering for all tastes and dietary needs.

Person Centred Approach

Residents are the focal point of our service provision. We ensure that they are fully involved in the planning and delivery of services, promoting their right to dignity, privacy, choice and independence.

Residents can access the services of healthcare and wellbeing professionals at the home, including GP, chiropodist and opthalmic services as well as other theraputic services via referral by the GP. Parish clergy visit regularly to meet the spiritual needs of residents and the home is also served by a hair salon and visiting hairdresser twice weekly.
