Introduction

Clarence House Residential Care and Nursing Home is centrally located in the small town of Brigg in rural North Lincolnshire, not far from the rail station and close to local shops, restaurants and a weekly market. Just 25 miles north of the City of Lincoln, the home is also readily accessible from Scunthorpe and Grimsby.

The home offers both nursing and residential care for the elderly, including people with physical disability and those in need of terminal or dementia care.

A highly qualified team of staff serves all care needs and treats every resident with the utmost dignity. In addition to registered nurses, most other staff are qualified to NVQ2 or 3, or both.

Activities & Social

Our activities organiser provides a range of activities appropriate to residents’ needs and interests, including crafts, visits to local places of interest and outside entertainers.

We also have a reminiscence corner where the local museum provides articles of interest from different eras. For those who wish to participate in worship and are unable to leave the home, local clergy will visit and conduct services.

We operate an open visiting policy and visiting friends and relatives of all ages are always made welcome.

Accommodation

Clarence House provides a relaxed and comfortable environment designed to assist older people to continue living as independently as possible. There are 29 single rooms all furnished to a good standard, some of which are en-suite. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own personal items - pictures, ornaments or small items of furniture - to help them feel more at home. Every room has a call bell to alert staff if assistance is needed.

There are two lounges, one of which looks out on to our small, fully accessible garden.

Person Centred Approach

Residents are the focal point of our service provision. We ensure that they are fully involved in the planning and delivery of services, promoting their right to dignity, privacy, choice and independence.

Residents have full access to a range of healthcare and wellbeing services, including GP and district nurses, who provide valuable input to support the welfare of our residents. A private or NHS chiropodist, occupational therapist and physiotherapist are also available to residents.

The home has its own hairdressing room served by a visiting hairdresser.
