Introduction

Lindau Residential Care Home is situated amongst well maintained houses in a delightful tree-lined street in Littlestone-on-Sea, close to New Romney in Kent. The local village amenities include a GP surgery, post office, shops and a pub, with the beach and golf course just a five minute stroll away.

The Kent coastal region is rich with places of historical and cultural interest, all within easy reach of Lindau, including Norman churches, the Battle of Britain Museum and Dover Castle.

Activities & Social

At Lindau residents can enjoy a wide variety of entertainments and activities. Indoors there is arts and crafts, cooking, play card bingo, board games and 'Ben', our golden Labrador rescue dog. Outside, when weather permits, we play lawn darts and hoop-la. Entertainers visiting the home include singers and an outside theatre company. For keen readers, a mobile library calls regularly at the home.

We operate an open visiting policy and visiting friends and relatives of all ages are always made welcome.

Accommodation

Lindau has recently benefitted from a major refurbishment project and can now accommodate 40 residents. Rooms are finished to a high standard and many include en-suite facilities. All bathrooms have baths with hoists and soon to be installed is a wet room with shower.

We aim to make Lindau a homely and comfortable environment. There are two spacious lounges, arranged as residents choose, one of which looks out on to the garden, a large dining room and a quiet area. The garden is easily accessible for residents.

Staff at Lindau pride themselves on creating a warm and homely atmosphere, where residents are actively supported in maintaining their independence.

Person Centred Approach

Residents are the focal point of our service provision. We ensure that they are fully involved in the planning and delivery of services, promoting their right to dignity, privacy, choice and independence.

Lindau provides a range of healthcare and wellbeing services to residents, including visits from the GP, community residential nurses, physiotherapist and a dentist as well as regular visits from a chiropodist and a hairdresser.
